Project Overview
The Nepal Tamakoshi-5 Hydropower Project is located in Dolakha District, Bagmati Province, about 170 kilometers northeast of Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, and is a key energy project of high concern to China and Nepal. The project has signed an EPC general contract for civil works and hydro-mechanical works with the Nepal Electricity Authority by PowerChina, with a total installed capacity of 99.8 megawatts an
d 4 hydro-turbine generator sets designed and installed. The project generates electricity by introducing the tail water from the Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower Station to the Tamakoshi-5 Hydropower Station. Its main structures include water diversion tunnels, underground powerhouses and pressure shafts. After completion, it will effectively improve Nepal's power supply capacity and help local energy independence strategy land.
