The 2×450MW combined cycle gas turbine power station project in Koh Kong Province, Cambodia involved in this cooperation is the first liquefied natural gas power plant in Cambodia. Invested and constructed by the Royal Group of Cambodia, POWERCHINA is responsible for core construction tasks such as the civil engineering of the project. Located in Botum Sakor District, Koh Kong Province, Cambodia, the project plans to build two combined cycle generator sets, adopting F-class gas turbines with a total installed capacity of 900MW. After completion, the annual power generation is expected to account for a quarter of Cambodia's total national power generation.
The 500kW diesel generator supplied by Comler Power this time will, with its core advantages of high reliability and high adaptability, accurately match the power supply needs during the construction and subsequent operation of the power station. It will provide stable power support for the key links in the construction of core areas such as the main power house, cooling tower and booster station of the project, helping the project steadily move towards the completion target at the end of 2027.
Extended Project Significance
This cooperation is of far-reaching significance to the cooperative parties, local Cambodia and China-Cambodia energy cooperation. For Comler Power Group, this is an important breakthrough for its products to successfully enter major overseas energy infrastructure projects. It can not only significantly enhance the brand's popularity and influence in the international power equipment market, but also accumulate valuable experience in overseas project cooperation, laying a solid foundation for subsequent in-depth development of the Southeast Asian energy equipment market.
For POWERCHINA, selecting a high-quality and suitable local power equipment supplier can not only ensure project construction efficiency and power supply stability, but also further improve the supply chain system of overseas projects, strengthen its core competitiveness in the international energy engineering field, and provide strong support for the efficient advancement of more subsequent overseas projects.
For Cambodia, as a key project in the local energy field, the smooth progress of this project will fill the gap in Cambodia's liquefied natural gas power generation field. The stable power provided by Comler Power's 500kW diesel generator will help the smooth implementation of this key clean energy power station, promote the transformation of the local energy structure towards low carbon, and lay a solid foundation for Cambodia to achieve the goals of 70% of total power generation coming from clean energy by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2050. At the same time, the project will create thousands of jobs for the local area during its construction and operation, and cultivate professional and technical talents through skills training and on-site practice, contributing to the sustainable development of local economy and society.
From the perspective of China-Cambodia cooperation and industry development, this cooperation is a vivid practice of Chinese enterprises jointly participating in Cambodia's energy construction under the framework of the "Belt and Road" Initiative. It builds a solid bridge for further cooperation between China and Cambodia in the field of clean energy and becomes another witness to the friendship between China and Cambodia. In addition, the joint export of China's power equipment and engineering construction capabilities provides a referenceable cooperation model for the "going global" of China's energy industry. It will effectively promote the reputation upgrading of China's power technology and engineering services in the international market, and help build a closer new pattern of "Belt and Road" energy cooperation.
Both parties stated that they will take this cooperation as an opportunity to give full play to their respective advantages, efficiently promote the relevant work of project construction, jointly build a benchmark project for China-Cambodia energy cooperation, and contribute to promoting regional energy security and green development
