A diesel generator is a small power generation device that uses diesel as fuel and a diesel engine as the prime mover to drive the generator. The complete unit generally includes components such as a diesel engine, generator, control box, fuel tank, starting/control accumulator, protection device, and emergency cabinet.
Ensure good ventilation at the installation site. The generator end should have sufficient air inlets, and the diesel engine end should have well-designed air outlets with an area over 1.5 times that of the water tank.
Keep the surrounding area clean. Avoid placing items that generate corrosive gases or vapors (such as acids and alkalis) nearby. Provide fire-fighting equipment if conditions permit.
Proper exhaust pipe installation for indoor use. The exhaust pipe must extend outdoors with a diameter ≥ that of the muffler’s exhaust pipe. Use no more than 3 elbows to ensure smooth exhaust. Tilt the pipe 5-10 degrees downward to prevent rainwater ingress; install a rain cover for vertically upward exhaust pipes.
Level the concrete foundation. Use a level to check horizontality during installation, and place special shock-absorbing pads or anchor bolts between the unit and the foundation for fixation.
Reliable grounding and lightning protection. The unit shell must be effectively grounded. For generators requiring direct neutral grounding, this work should be done by professionals with supporting lightning protection devices. Never use the municipal power grounding device for direct neutral grounding.
Secure bidirectional switching with municipal power. Ensure reliable bidirectional switching to prevent reverse power transmission. The wiring of the bidirectional switch must be inspected and approved by the local power supply department.
