Diesel generator is a small power generation equipment, which refers to a power machinery that uses diesel as fuel and diesel engine as the prime mover to drive the generator to generate electricity. The entire unit is generally composed of diesel engine, generator, control box, fuel tank, starting and control accumulator, protective device, emergency cabinet and other components.
(1) The installation site should have good ventilation, sufficient air inlet at the diesel generator unit end, and good air outlet at the diesel engine end. The area of the air outlet is more than 1.5 times the area of the water tank.
(2) The surrounding area of the installation site should be kept clean, and no items that can produce corrosive gases and vapors such as acids and alkalis should be placed nearby. If conditions permit, fire extinguishing devices should be provided.
(3) If used indoors, the exhaust pipe should open outward and have a diameter equal to or greater than the diameter of the muffler exhaust pipe. The number of bends for connecting pipes should not exceed 3 to ensure smooth smoke exhaust. The pipeline should be inclined downwards at 5-10 degrees to avoid rainwater from entering. If the exhaust pipe is installed vertically upwards, a rain cover should be installed.
(4) When the foundation is made of concrete, measure its levelness with a spirit level during installation in order to secure the device on the horizontal foundation. There should be a special shock-absorbing pad or anchor bolt between the device and the foundation.
(5) The unit casing should have reliable protective grounding. For generators that require direct neutral grounding, professional personnel should perform neutral grounding and equip lightning protection devices. It is strictly prohibited to use the grounding device of the mains power for direct neutral grounding.
(6) The bidirectional switching between diesel generators and mains power should be very reliable to prevent reverse power transmission. The wiring reliability of bidirectional switches needs to be inspected and approved by the local power supply department.
